Mechanical Engineer Yorkville, NY Temp to Hire, 1st shift, Mon - Fri, 7:00am - 3:30pm $30.00 + DOE
A mechanical engineer who will design and develop workflows and processes to produce products meeting customer requirements. Workflows and processes may require research and testing of new machines, tooling, materials and technologies.
Core Responsibilities - Design & Cost Analysis: Create cost estimates based on customer design requirements and create workflows to allow the designs to be produced economically.
- Testing & Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to check performance and manufacturability.
- Manufacturing Support: Apply design-for-manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize products for production cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate design or manufacturing failures, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend effective remedies.
- Collaboration: Document design specifications and work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, and quality departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications - Education: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD design software, advanced math (calculus, statistics), and manufacturing processes (sheetmetal bending and fabrication, welding, brazing, tube bending and 3D printing)
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, creativity, teamwork, and clear verbal and written communication.
This Mechanical Engineer is for a role as an estimator/designer/manufacturing engineer with experience in metal fabrication and processes. Pay would start at $30.00/hr but would be reviewed depending on experience and qualifications. Any experience level would be entertained, salary commensurate with experience.
